According to her reckoning, Katherine Bohanen, a Black lady in Milwaukee, was born in Kentucky on Christmas Day, about 1806, but she couldn't be sure.In 1909 she applied for assistance due to blindness which had occurred in the previous year. We get a little bit of her biography in this clipping.
